"Love is like playing the piano. First you

from your heart."
Happy Valentines day.

2. "New world in the
morning".
Do you remember the song "New world in the
morning, by Roger Whittaker, that guy
who could whistle so incredibly
well?
Here are some of the lyrics, just to remind you to
...
"I met a man who had a dream he had since he was twenty.
I
met that man when he was eighty-one.
He said too many people just stand and
wait up till the mornin',
don't they know tomorrow never
comes."
How many dreams do you still have lurking inside since way
back when?
Are you going to do something about them on that
"tomorrow which never comes", or
are you going to take action on them, right
now?
This is the "new" section of my newsletter,

- Valentines day special

It's 12 February and unfortunately the deadline has expired
for the special Valentines day offer.
I'm sorry, but now you'll
have to wait a whole year, 365 days, for
a similar

- The Ivory Club
"Promises, promises,
promises." I hear some of you say.
I'm sorry, but things do not
always work out the way we plan them.
There was no time this week
to update the Ivory Club webpage, and due to a very full
week, I will have
to keep you in suspense till early next week.
But it's definitely
coming: I still had a meeting with some of
the role players
yesterday.
So, let's make a date for Wednesday 18
February.

3.
Intermission.
An inspiring story of love from
China.
An incredible story of love has come out of
China recently touching the hearts of
all those who heard
it.
It is a story of a young man and an older, widowed woman who
fled society because
of their love for each other, who then lived and loved
in seclusion for over half a century.
Over 50 years ago, Liu
Guojiang a 19 year-old boy, fell in love with a 29 year-old,
widowed mother
named Xu Chaoqin..
Friends and relatives criticized the
relationship because of the age difference and
the fact that Xu already had
children. At that time, it was also unacceptable and
immoral for a young man
to love an older woman..
In a twist worthy of Shakespeare's Romeo
and Juliet, the couple decided to elope
to avoid the market gossip and the
scorn of their communities, and they ended up
living in a cave in Jiangjin
County in Southern ChongQing Municipality.
In the beginning, life
was hard as they had nothing, no electricity, not even food.
They had to
live off grass and roots they found in the mountain, and Liu made a kerosene
lamp for light.
Xu often felt that she had tied Liu down and
repeatedly asked him: 'Are you regretful?"
Liu always replied: "As
long as we are industrious, life will improve."
In their
second year of living in the mountain, Liu began and continued for over
50
years, to hand-carve more than 6000 steps, using only an iron rod and a hammer,
so that his wife could get up and down the mountain easily.
Half a century after it all began, in 2001, a group of adventurers were
exploring
the forest and were surprised when they discovered the elderly
couple and the over
6,000 hand-carved steps.
Liu MingSheng,
one of their seven children said, 'My parents love one
another so much, they
have lived in seclusion for over 50 years and have never been
apart a single
day. He hand carved more than 6,000 steps over the years for my mother's
convenience, although she doesn't go down the mountain that much.'
Until last week the couple had lived together peacefully for over 50 years.
Liu, now 72, returned from his daily farm work and collapsed. Xu
sat and prayed with
her husband as he passed away in her arms.
So in love with Xu, was Liu, that helpers were barely able to release the
grip he had on his wife's hand even after he had passed away.
"You promised me you'll take care of me, you'll always be with me until the
day I
died, now you left before me, how am I going to live without you?"
Sobbed the 82-year old Xu.
Xu spent days softly repeating this
sentence and touching her husband's black coffin,
tears rolling down her
cheeks.
In 2006, their story of love and devotion became one of
the top 10 love stories from
China , collected by the Chinese Women Weekly.
The local government has decided to preserve the love ladder and
their cave as a
museum, in order that this story of love and devotion can
live on for ever.
Note: this story has been pieced together
from several
sources on the internet and from an e-mail version that did the
rounds.
May each of us draw inspiration from this couple's
devotion.

5. Encore
There were so many bookings at Sir Thomas
for Valentines day, they
actually have two sittings.
Yes, they
are serving a Valentines day lunch, people eating,
drinking, loving and
making memories, accompanied by my music,
and a Valentines day dinner:
people again enjoying the best
food and music, creating lasting
memories.
Hope you are one of the few who could be
accommodated!
Sorry, got to rush if you must get this before
Valentines day.
I'll take my leave then with these words from the
Vera Matson and Elvis Presley song, "Love me tender".
"Love me tender;
love me sweet;
never
let me go.
You have made my life complete;
and I love you
so.
Love me tender;
love me true;
all my dreams
fulfilled.
For my darling I love you;
and I always will.
Love me tender;
love me long;
take me to your heart.
For its there
that I belong;
and we'll never part.
Love me tender;
love me
dear;
tell me you are mine.
I'll be yours through all the years;
till
the end of time.
(When at last my dreams come true;
darling this
I know.
Happiness will follow you;
everywhere you go).
Love and the best music
